I have personally tested the pole at my home and love it. It is very easy to raise each section and lock it into place because of the arrow that is etched into each section that points down to line up the hole and pin. Once the arrow is lined up the pin pops into place. The pin itself is heavy duty and self contained in each section with a heavy duty spring that pops the pin out into the locked position. The competition uses your basic old fashioned spring pin that wears out easily and can even fall into the pole if pushed in too far. To lower the pole you simple push the pin in and rotate the section slightly left or right and let it drop down slowly.

Attaching your flag is just as easy with the steel spring clips. Each collar that holds the spring clip is made from aluminum, not plastic like the competition. Not only are the collars made from heavy duty aluminum they also swivel independently! No more tangled up flags or broken collars.
